Looking at the table above, all of the horror films, besides from the unrated ones, are a 13 or above. This shows that the target audience of the majority of horror films are either teenagers or adults. A possible reason why it is not targeted at people younger than that, is because most horror films contain content not suitable for children such as threat and violence. It is most likely not to be an 18 because they are likely to have a smaller audience. Based on my research, the majoirty audience is usually teenagers.
From this information, we have decided to take a risk and aim our horror film at people younger than 15. This is because some of the films which are rated a 12a have been very successful and gained a larger audience. By labeling our film as a 12a, it may increase profits.
